Happy Collage Friday!

Today I added these little drawings to vintage stamps to make fun little mini-collage cards!

Although it’s been another busy week in the studio, I was happy to carve out some time today to play with making these extra-mini little botanical(ish) collages using a collection of my drawings on rice paper (above).

Sampling of finished collages (available to Paid Subscribers!)

And BONUS - paid subscribers can choose 1 to take home! (Instructions at the end).

Basic Mini-Collage Steps

  1. Create a pencil drawing on rice paper

  2. Add optional water-soluble crayon highlights

  3. Collage stamps onto postcards/matboard

Pairing stamp collages with drawings...
  1. Block out small areas of the stamp collage with gesso (as highlights)

  1. Glue back of drawing onto each stamp piece and let dry

  2. Brush water on water-soluble crayon highlights

  3. Embellish/draw/paint until satisfied!

One of the best aspects of repeating a process is the infusion of creativity it necessitates. How many ways can I draw a trillium? What else can I draw? A bird? A bird skeleton? Repetition challenges the limits of imagination.

And now I want to draw more bird skeletons!

Finally - for my paying subscribers - I have a gift for you! (Continue below for your FREE mini botanical collage art - or apply the discount to any of my other mini Collages.)

Happy collaging!
