Just a short note today to share this mixed media collage piece from 2021, “Eternity.”

As I continue to revamp my studio (how did I think I could do this in a day let alone a week!), I am also time-traveling through several years of studio clutter. I am reminded of how I came to my current studio practice and the expressive nature of collage providing a magical world of possibility.
From my 2021 book, “A Painter’s Journey | Art Found in Process, Poetry & Possibility”
With all that came before, and all the plans I have for my path forward, mixed media painted collages became the perfect vehicle for my journey. I love how all the lost and weaving trails of my history started to converge into one beautiful medley of color, shape, concept and design… This is where I find the future pulling at me. All Eyes watching. All Eyes open. Waiting to See where the future may lead.
Lately, I find myself wanting to close my eyes to the world around me. But art and history remind me to keep my eyes open. To keep watching, noticing, and sharing. To use art to hold not only myself but a whole universe, together with love and tears.
To the power of creative expression,
Jennifer
“Eternity” includes hand-knit fiber, cheesecloth, hand-made stamped papers, machine and slow stitches, acrylic paint and cold wax.
